Responsabilities

Position Overview

The Procurement & Production Planning Specialist is responsible for purchasing raw materials and supplies and supporting the production planning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions negotiated by the Buyer with suppliers;
  • Manage daily communication and follow-up with suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for parts and materials;
  • Maintain and update MRP/Kanban parameters to optimize inventory levels, costs, and supply reliability;
  • Respond to supplier inquiries and communicate any changes that may impact orders;
  • Ensure continuous follow-up on purchase orders through to delivery;
  • Participate in the monitoring and continuous improvement of internal processes;
  • Take the necessary actions in response to unforeseen events (e.g., production stoppages) to maintain a high level of service;
  • Coordinate activities between the Production Planner and various subcontractors and recommend scheduling adjustments when necessary;
  • Participate in the production planning process;
  • Act as a backup for the Production Planner during their absence.
Assets

What You Need to Succeed

  • Education or training in procurement, supply chain, or production planning;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Manufacturing experience is essential;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management systems;
  • Experience with ERP software;
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kanban;
  • Strong initiative, autonomy, and sound judgment;
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
